Dutton Bay Tramway John Dennis befrended me as I became involved in some of the internet web groups last year. Since then I have had the pleasure of operating John's "Dutton Bay" on a couple of occasions. John is very willing to share his knowledge as the contents of the web site show. Also John is not afraid to offer constructive critisism, a great asset in a friend for anyone new to the hobby.

Australian Narrow Gauge Web-Exhibition Gallery Another of John's web sites, this time displaying the work of some of Australia's finest modellers.

Zafra There are not many model railways set in the "third world", but that is where most narrow gauge railways were located. There was so much variety, too. This French-built model is of a freelanced Cuban sugar line.

Barfi Light Railway India also has many narrow gauge railways, and this is a model by an Australian of a freelance line set in southern India. The models are built in 4mm scale, and as the prototypes used 2'6" gauge track, the model track gauge is 10mm. Is this the only model using this gauge in the world?

Cane Railway Modelling Special Interest Group Narrow gauge sugar cane railways were found worldwide throughout the tropics, and continue to operate today. Some great links to narrow gauge equipment drawings, etc. off this site.

Model of NGG11 class Garratt Fine scratch built model in O scale of this early South African 2' gauge Garratt by Frank Neubauer, including details as to how he built it..

Other useful links

7mm Narrow Gauge Association This British-based association has plenty of overseas members, and is one of the few associations covering O scale narrow gauge. As well as British prototypes, American, Australian, European and "Colonial" prototypes often appear in the pages of their magazine. Also all three "O" scales modelled on HO track are accepted.

Puffing Billy This famous train is only half an hour from my home, and has been part of my life from childhood. Find out what makes it such a great railway.

British Locomotive Builders This page, actually part of an excellent site on Irish narrow gauge railways, links into details of British locomotive buiders, including the current locations of records and drawings. A useful resource for anybody chasing down details of a particular loco.

World-wide 30" Gauge Railway List OK so it is my site, but it is pretty complete, apart from China and Russia (and I'll get to them...).

World-wide 2' Gauge Railway List Likewise, but the work of Bill Kerr.
